Edward Angle

 Edward Angle was an American dentist who is considered the father of modern orthodontics.

He was born on June 1 in Herrick, Pennsylvania, in 1876 he began his studies at the Institute of Oral Surgery in Philadelphia, graduating in 1878 and beginning his professional practice in Towanda, where his interest in orthodontics began.

In 1886 he was appointed Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Minnesota, since he would reject 6 years later, at which time he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to orthodontics, being the first exclusive orthodontist.

He published a large number of articles, but the most important was in the magazine Dental Cosmos in 1899, which dealt with the classification, which we continue to use today, of the bad position of the teeth and how they fit together. In 1900, Angle inaugurated the first school related to orthodontics in Sant Louis and, a year later, founded the American Association of Orthodontists.

I like this person because I am very interested in orthodontics and he was the first of the orthodontists, and thanks to him we began to talk about orthodontics not only as a technique to align the teeth, but as an element that balances health and the appliance masticatory.

Dentistry

Dentistry was a career from a very young age I wanted to study, I really liked going to the dentist and I always observed what he was doing and the objects he had.

Since I was about 10 years old I said that I wanted to study dentistry and it was always my goal, I like the way of acting inside the mouth and I could not have chosen a career that was at a desk. I like the way you can change a person feels by improving their smile, how you can change their self-confidence and self-esteem. The smile is the way to show happiness and what better way to give our patients the confidence to be able to show it when they want.

I would like to specialize in restorative dentistry or orthodontics because they focus mainly on improving the aesthetics of our patient and problems that may be due to caries or anatomical.

I will always try to leave my patients as satisfied as possible and that they feel happy with the end of the treatment.

Important people to me

This photo is not the most beautiful nor the best, but it is very important to me because of the people who are there. This photo was taken on July 29, 2018, when I turned 18.
The first girl is my friend Claudia, we have known each other since we were very young and we grew up together because she lives in front of my house. When we were little we were together every day and until now we always got together.
The second is called Rocío, we are friends in kindergarten. When we were at school we didn't see each other much but all summer we are together.
The last girl is called Valentina, we are friends from first grade and although she was repeating in second half, our friendship never ended.
The boy is my boyfriend, he is a very good person, happy and who always supports me in everything.

These people are very important to me, I know I can count on them for anything, they have always been when I have needed them.
This birthday was a lot of fun, although I celebrated it at my house we enjoyed it a lot and we drank a lot. I have never really liked celebrating my birthday in a big way but I really like being with the people who are important to me and my family.

Trekking

Trekking is a physical activity that consists of walking through natural places.
Trekking is an activity that I do with my father. We generally go to mountains and hills. I really like it even if I get tired. I like to feel that I achieve it when I reach the goal.


One of the places that I like to go the most is "Los 3 chorrillos" that is in Rengo, it is a hill that has 3 waterfalls, it is very beautiful and it is perfect to go camping in the summer. And the journey is not so long, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes so it is easier for the whole family to go.

Another place that I really like is the "Cerro Poqui" in Coltauco. It is very large and is part of the Cordillera de la Costa. To get to the top it takes approximately 5 hours, it is very tiring but it is very cool, a beautiful view. In the winter it is snowy, a week ago I went with my dad and there was a lot of snow. Condors live there, 2 times I was there I could see them, they are very big

My cell phone

My favourite piece of technology is my cell phone. I have my current phone approximately 8 months ago but since I was little I have had one because my mother worried about me when I went to school and calls me to know if I was fine.
I use my phone to talk, send whatsapps, take photos, listen to music, watch videos, play and much more. I use my phone very often, almost all the day. I think have a problem because I use my phone too much but i can't avoid it. 
I like because keeps me connect with my friends, family and boyfriends. I like Instagram because and I spend a lot of time there. Obviously my live will continue if i don't have a phone but i think it would be different. Maybe better, because i would share more with the people that around me. 

My career

When I was a child I wanted to be a Veterinarian, but since I was about 10 years approx I started to like Dentistry. At the time of applying to the university, I had very clear that I wanted to study Dentistry and I applied for Dentistry  in all the university. I not had other career options.

My university experience is very good, I have very good friends, despite I'm not very good at talking.
I like faculty, it is big and nice. The transition from living with my parents to living alone was difficult but I got used to it.

In the future I would like to study a specialty and live abroad, if that option was not possible, I would like to have my dental clinic. But my dream is to travel the world.

Damaris Sandoval

Mi name is Damaris Sandoval Gonzalez. I was born in Rancagua, Chile on July 29, 2000. At elementary school and high school, I studied at Centro Educacional Asunción located  in Rengo.

In 2019 I entered to study Dentistry at the University of Chile. I always wanted to study dentistry since I was very little.

I live with my family in Rengo, Vl Región. My mom is called Carolina Gonzalez and my dad Patricio Sandoval. I don't have brothers and I only live with my parent and my 3 dogs. When I am at university I live in Santiago but I go home on weekends.

I like to ride a bicycle and go to hill. I really like going out with my friends and with my boyfriend. I like where i live since it is countryside. It is very quiet place and it has a river where I go in the summer with my friends.
